Aviation discovery event in Grand Prairie, Texas, will offer prospective students and families an opportunity to explore flight training, aircraft, and professional pilot career pathways.
GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (October 15, 2026) – Spartan Flight Academy (SFA), will host AERO Fest on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at its flight training facility at Grand Prairie Municipal Airport (KGPM). The event invites aspiring pilots, prospective students, and their families to experience aviation firsthand while exploring educational opportunities and career pathways in the aviation industry.
Beginning at 10:00 a.m. CT, AERO Fest will provide attendees with an interactive look at professional flight training through aircraft displays, flight simulator demonstrations, facility tours, and opportunities to connect with Certified Flight Instructors (CFIs) and aviation professionals.
Designed to introduce the next generation of aviators to flight training, the event will also highlight Spartan Flight Academy’s programs and airline partnerships, including its recently announced participation in the Envoy Air Cadet Program and opportunities through the SkyWest Airlines Pilot Pathway.
“AERO Fest is an opportunity to introduce aspiring pilots and their families to the world of aviation and help them better understand the steps involved in pursuing a professional pilot career,” said Bob Werderich, Executive Vice President of Flight Administration for Spartan Education Group. “By providing hands-on experiences and direct access to our instructors, we hope to inspire future aviators and demonstrate the educational and career opportunities available through flight training.”
Throughout the event, attendees will have opportunities to explore training aircraft, experience flight simulator demonstrations, tour the academy’s facilities, and speak directly with instructors about the pilot training journey. Guests will also learn about the certificates and ratings required to pursue professional aviation careers and how Spartan Flight Academy’s structured training programs support student progression. A panel of guest speakers will share insights into flight training, and participants who complete event activities will receive digital participation certificates.
As part of Spartan Education Group, Spartan Flight Academy continues a nearly century-long legacy of aviation education and training dating back to 1928. Located in the Dallas–Fort Worth region, the academy provides FAA Part 141 and Part 61 flight training, offering instruction toward Private Pilot, Instrument, Commercial Pilot, Multi-Engine, and Certified Flight Instructor certificates and ratings.
